This was a day of mostly driving because we had to get to Winnipeg by Wednesday night to make it for an early Thursday morning appointment to get Juju Jr. repaired. We drove from Regina to Brandon, then to Winnipeg.
Ethan handled the journey like a champ. He’s really adapted well to life on the road, although he did say he was. homesick. You wouldn’t know it by how much fun he’s having.
Morning
Ethan helped with getting breakfast ready by helping to cook the scrambled eggs.
Afternoon
After breakfast, we left for Brandon, MB and made a pit stop at the visitor’s centre. On the way, Ethan worked on his origami designs…the entire time.

When we stopped at the visitor’s centre, Ethan wanted to make a new how to video.
In Brandon, we went to the visitor’s centre and they told us that we could use the YMCA for free if it was our first visit. We went and enjoyed time at the pool and took our first showers since leaving for our trip.
Evening
From Brandon it was a non-stop drive to Winnipeg, where we arrived in the evening. One thing we wanted to avoid was driving at night because of safety, but also because we would miss all the sights along the way.
However, we’re flexible with how things go on this trip and want to just go with the flow. We absolutely had to be in Winnipeg because of the service appointment for our Westfalia, as having Juju Jr. on the road is pretty much critical to the entire trip.
Again, Ethan was great and was busy working on his origami. After dinner, he used Babbel to practice French, something he has really been enjoying. He learned about Babbel through one of the science podcasts he listens to. Since downloading the app, he asks every chance he gets if he can practice his French. We’re happy to oblige and are also trying to learn with him. Hopefully, this will help when we get to Quebec and spend time there.

Before bed, we spilled some water outside the van and Ethan wanted to demonstrate an optical illusion where it looks like a person is floating above the ground using the puddle as a shadow.
